Music Wars: Itunes has some real competition

Posted by smileandmobile on January 10, 2013 in Tech Reviews | 7 Views

For too long Apples Itunes has had a monopoly on the very vibrant digital music industry.  They are able to force the very powerful music industry to agree to sell music through their store at a huge discount.  Apple on the other hand makes money by selling consumers the devices they will use to download and listen to this music.  It is a winning strategy, and one that has made Apple the most powerful company in the country.

Well things are about to change, Amazon the largest internet retailer is about move into the space in a big way.  Amazon launched Autorip, which gives customers free digital versions of music CDs they purchase from the world’s largest Internet retailer.

Things just got interesting 🙂 Either way it does not bother me I dont buy music, I just stream everything free on Pandora!! 🙂
