Imagery is a powerful thing. Peoples perception of you depends on how you present yourself. If you take two guys with the same level of education, and put one of them in a t-shirt and the other guy in a power suit, there is something in your brain that will make you believe that the guy in the suit is more successful (although the hooded sweat shirt is rising in the pantheon of power brands thanks to Zuckerberg!)
Without a doubt the number one issue affecting Africa is perception. African nations have horrible branding. If you look at movies or the news, Africa is rarely mentioned unless the topic is war or disease. Movies are seen by millions and affect perceptions, so it is very surprising that there has not been an attempt to change perceptions through media. We are excited to tell you about Leti Arts because we believe this is a company that gets it. Leti Arts is an interactive media company that want to brings African mobile comic books and games to the world. We are particularly pleased that they are creating a series of African superheroes, as Africa themed superheroes are virtually non existent in movies and comics(well aside from Marvels the black panther!).
