When you think of the perception of black people in America and the world, what comes to mind? Usually we think of incredible athletes and entertainers, but black scientist have never been part of the imagery. We don’t see black scientist in hollywood movies and other forms of popular culture, and as a result the next generation might not aspire to these careers. Dr. William Massey is a Professor of Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University. In this Ted talk he reveals that the number of black scientists has been steadily increasing in America, and he proposes simples steps to continue this growth.
