Posted by Somto Fab-Ukozor on July 15, 2015 in EVENTS, techsommy | 36 Views

The Code for Ghana project is part of the Code for Africa initiative which aims to use open data and technology to promote responsive, innovative and effective governance. Code for Ghana in partnership with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA)  is organizing  an Open Data Hack Night at Mobile Web Ghana from  July 31st  to  August 1st, 2015.

This event will bring together  developers, students, workers, designers, data analysts and  data science enthusiasts who are interested in using open data for social good to analyse and hack on open government data.

Participants will be working on open government data provided by NITA and other government agencies. These include: Energy Consumption , Road accidents and casualties,  Government Operations (Revenue and Expenditure), Fire Outbreaks, Floods and other interesting data sets. Participants would break out into teams to use raw data to develop civic apps or turn the raw data into visual and interactive experiences that allow ordinary citizens to empathize and understand these data.

Interested in this event? Sign up here. It is FREE

NB: Food and drinks will be provided!
