Listen to GHOGH with Jamarlin Martin | Episode 20: Andrew Gillum
Jamarlin talks to Andrew Gillum, mayor of Tallahassee and leading Democratic candidate for Florida governor. They discuss the DNC taking the Black vote for granted, its silence on the killing of 60 Palestinian protestors, and whether big tech and Silicon Valley elites can be regulated at the state level.
Voters began receiving pre-recorded phone messages again on Tuesday with offensive and racist language from someone pretending to be Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum.
With a choir singing in the background, the robocaller mocked Gillum’s health care plan, claiming he’d give chicken feet to Floridians to put under their pillows rather than provide “the white man’s” medicine. The message refered to slavery and made derogatory statements about Jews.
A disclaimer at the end of the robocall attributes it to The Road to Power — a right-wing extremist podcast and website, according to the Anti-Defamation League, Miami Herald reported. The site has been responsible for other offensive automated calls around the country leading up to the midterm elections.
