The much-anticipated sequel to “Coming To America” is shaping up. Wesley Snipes will join Eddie Murphy in “Coming 2 America,” which will continue the storyline of the Paramount 1988 comedy.
Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow”) will direct while Kevin Misher is producing along with Kenya Barris and Murphy. Arsenio Hall will return as Murphy’s right-hand man.

In the original film, a spoiled prince from the fictional African nation of Zamunda, Prince Akeem (played by Murphy) comes to Queens, New York, takes a job at a local burger joint and finds a wife.
“In the sequel, Akeem (Murphy) is set to become King of Zamunda but discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crowned prince, Akeem and Semmi (Hall) set off to America to meet the unlikely heir,” Deadline reported. Click here to read entire article
