Hashim Nzinga, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party, died on Sept. 9 after a long battle with Stage 4 colon cancer. Born in Midland, Texas on July 24, 1962, Nzinga was 58.
In 1994, Nzinga was the chief of staff for Muhammad, who was the former spokesman for the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and later served as the NBPP Chairman until Feb. 17, 2001.
Nzinga then served as the New Black Panther Party national chief of staff from 2001 until 2013 under the leadership of NBPP Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz.
